The year is 1999- welcome to San Diego, California! Brian Witkin and his brother Sean decide to put together a band. They grab their guitars, add Jason Svet on bass and Ross Goldman on drums, and form “Void”. After seven months of complaints about the clichéd name, the guys re-dub the band “Warrior Finches” (don’t ask!). Anyway, over the years, Ross and Jason move on, Sean takes over drums, and the kids recruit a local college student, Sam Hodgson, on bass. Eureka! - the three piece band they are today.
The guys start out playing every party they can find, with little or no pay.
The band moves up, and plays major San Diego venues, working with bands such
as Lance’s Hero, All Pride Aside, Three Flies Up and Upshot Bidder. Their original style of music is a unique form of Alternative Rock with an edge (if you know what that means, I’ll buy you a beer!). All the members
of Warrior Finches sing, and they do a damned good job of it, with solid melodies
and intense three part harmonies. They even swap instruments!
The band has established itself in the San Diego music scene, and has a large
fan base that never seems to stop growing. From a garage group of three aspiring
teenage boys, to an accomplished band with never-ending potential, the Warrior
Finches are taking the world by storm. Their talent is endless, and they have
a bright and promising future ahead of them. (Violins, please!!)
